Course Introduction
Incidents can happen in many different shapes and forms, and each has its own set of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to follow for an appropriate response. In the unfortunate occurrence of such an incident, it is paramount for on-the-ground personnel to be trained in adequate contingency plans along with the use of mandatory safety equipment in accordance to their security incident response training. These are put in place so that a key decision-maker can carry out steps to minimise damage done to personnel and the property. They are then required to perform an assessment of the situation to provide a clear picture of the incident to the relevant authorities after safety is ensured.
Course Synopsis
The incident handling course will equip learners with essential knowledge and application skillsets in handling security-related incidents in an effective and efficient manner and apply their security incident response training to their workplace in several ways such as:
- Containing incidents of damages to organization’s facilities and owned equipment.
- Handling and controlling fire-related incidents.
- Handle and manage crime-related incidents.
- Providing adequate medical assistance or administering first-aid as required.
- Safely handling of bomb or Improvised Explosive Device (IED) threat incidents.
- Searching, apprehending, and arresting suspects.
- Assessing the situation and providing evidence as required in court.
Course Objective
After successfully completing this incident handling course, the learner will be equipped with skills and knowledge to be able to perform security duties effectively and professionally. The learners will be trained to handle challenging incidents according to the classification of the occurrence and to address the situation according to the organisational standards in Singapore. This module is also able to provide learners who wish to gain more knowledge in security services and pursue a new and thriving career in the private security industry in Singapore.
