Course Synopsis

The unit will equip learners with essential knowledge and application skills that are required of a person to play a vital role in an organisation’s Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) when responding to fire incidents in Chemicals, Refineries, Oil & Gas or process plants. Learners will be able to apply them to their workplace in ways such as:

  1. Prepare for fire and Hazmat emergencies.
  2. Participate to contain fire emergencies.
  3. Participate to contain Hazmat emergencies.

Course Objective

After successfully completing this unit, the learner will be equipped with apt proficiencies and knowledge to prepare and plan for Standard Operating Procedures and response for fire and Hazmat incidents and emergencies. Learners will be orientated to take charge and be involved in containing emergency incidents relating to fire and Hazmat emergencies. The module will also equip learners with knowledge and ability to assist the Authorities in search and rescue operations.
